FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS AT WORK IN THE INTERNATIONAL CIVIL SERVICE

We raise here the crucial issue of fundamental rights at work in the international civil service. Our objective is to contribute to drawing the attention of the organizations of the United Nations system, as well as other organizations whose disputes with their staff fall under the jurisdiction of the ILO Administrative Tribunal, to this issue in order for them to finally integrate the fundamental principles and rights at work into their staff rules and regulations. This subject will be the first in a series of reflections and will be dealt with in a monthly publication on this blog. All staff members who wish to contribute are invited to do so. It is in everyone’s interest to stand up for the legal enshrinement of fundamental principles and rights at work in the rules governing relations between international civil servants and their employer organizations.
